Steps for a Successful Juice Bar – Part 3/4: A Properly Trained Staff

In earlier editions of Steps for a Successful Juice Bar we covered Buying a Juicer 1st Edition and A Well Displayed Product 2nd Edition.  In this 3rd edition  we will cover the importance of a properly trained staff.

tradeshow-team-2

A well-trained and professional staff is important to the success of any business and essential to any juicing business.  It requires a little bit of an investment of time and energy, but having a training plan can have major effects on your bottom line.

A well trained staff knows how to get the most out of your machine

This includes both extending the life of the machine and getting higher yields from your produce.   A broken machine can be a big expense in parts and service and lead to lost profits in dead time.  From our experience up to 90% of broken equipment comes from user error, which can be prevented.

  • * Most machines come with user manuals. This should come with any juicer you buy and it is important to make sure everyone who uses the machine is knowledgeable in the manual.
  • * See if you can get a live demo for hands on experience on the proper use of your machine. YouTube videos can also be great tools for this as well.  We keep our YouTube channel packed with important videos of demos and proper use of almost all of our equipment.
  • * Some equipment requires regular service (for example Nutrifaster & Sammic CKE machines need regular blade sharpening, belts can wear out on most machines). Don’t hesitate to ask what these regular maintenance routines are, and make sure to set regular reminders as they can lead to major problems if ignored.
  • * Know your warranty – most new machines come with a warranty of a year or more, and even some used machines have distributor warranties.

A well trained staff can better serve your customers

A staff that is knowledgeable in your product can help promote your products in store.  If for example they can explain the health benefits of different juices on your menu it adds value to your customer.

At Freshly Squeezed we know the value of a well trained staff and are always happy to provide any materials needed to educate you and your staff on your product. Contact us to learn more info@drinkfreshlysqueezed.com.

The Best Commercial Margarita Machine For The Money

If you run a bar, restaurant, or event space and want to crank out frozen drinks that actually taste good, you’re gonna need a real margarita machine. Not some cheap countertop blender from a big box store. We’re talking commercial gear that can handle volume without breaking down halfway through happy hour.

Now, most people hear “commercial margarita machine” and immediately think Taylor. It’s the big brand. It’s what the chains use. But just because it’s popular doesn’t mean it’s the smartest move for your bottom line. These things are expensive. Like, really expensive. And unless you’re slinging drinks all day every day, there’s a good chance you’re overpaying for more machine than you need.

If you’re trying to make money and not just burn through it, there’s a better way. A smarter buy that delivers the performance you need without the bloated price tag. Let’s get into it.

Margaritas

What You Actually Need in a Margarita Machine

You don’t need bells, whistles, or a touchscreen that talks to you. You need a machine that works. One that churns out ice-cold margaritas all day without throwing a fit or slowing you down.

First off, it better handle volume. A commercial margarita machine should keep up with rush hour, not tap out after a few rounds. Consistent output is the name of the game. No one wants a half-frozen slush dripping out of the tap.

Next, freezing time matters. The faster it recharges and gets back to temp, the faster you serve. More drinks out means more money in.

It also has to be easy to clean. No one wants to spend 45 minutes breaking it down after a 12-hour shift. A simple design with easy-access parts saves time and keeps your staff from losing their minds.

Durability matters too. This machine has one job, don’t break. The last thing you need is a busted part during a Saturday night rush. You want gear that’s built to last, not some fragile unit that cracks under pressure.

It should fit your space, not dominate it. A compact footprint with a smart layout means you get performance without sacrificing counter real estate.

And finally, price. If you have to sell a kidney to afford it, it’s the wrong machine. You want something that gets the job done without gutting your margins. Performance and value, that’s the combo that wins.

What You Actually Need in a Margarita Machine

Let’s keep it real. You don’t need a big-name machine that costs more than your oven. You need a machine that works hard, makes you money, and doesn’t quit when things get busy.

Start with volume. Your machine needs to pump out consistent, high-quality drinks without falling behind. If it can’t keep up with a crowd, it’s not worth having.

Next is freezing time. You want fast recovery so the machine is ready for the next round. Long wait times kill your flow and frustrate your customers.

Cleaning should be simple. No complicated breakdowns or tiny parts to scrub with a toothbrush. You want quick, efficient cleanup so your staff isn’t stuck for an extra hour every night.

Durability matters. You need a machine built with quality parts that can take a beating and still perform. The last thing you want is a breakdown mid-shift with a line out the door.

A compact design is a bonus. It should fit your bar or counter without eating up space. Smart layout, small footprint, and no wasted room.

And finally, it has to be priced right. You’re running a business, not a charity. If a machine drains your profits before you sell your first drink, it’s not the right choice. You want power, reliability, and speed at a price that keeps your margins strong.

Why the National Equipment Margarita Machine Is the Best Value

Frozen Drink machine

If you’re looking for the smartest choice in frozen drink machines, the National Equipment Margarita Machine is it. It costs significantly less than a Taylor, but still delivers the kind of performance you need to run a busy bar or restaurant.

This machine puts out consistent, high-quality drinks with a smooth texture and fast recovery between batches. It handles high volume without stalling or overheating, which means you stay on pace even during your busiest hours.

It’s built for real-world use. Operation is simple, cleaning is quick, and your team can learn it fast without a long training session. That alone makes a difference when turnover is high and time is short.

Parts are easy to get, service is affordable, and you’re not stuck waiting weeks if something needs attention. It’s a reliable piece of equipment without the headaches that come from overpriced, overly complicated machines.

You can get the National Equipment Margarita Machine now through Drink Freshly Squeezed. It’s a perfect fit for restaurants, bars, hotels, food trucks, or anyone looking to serve frozen drinks without burning through their budget.

If you want value, performance, and peace of mind, this machine checks every box.

Real Profit Potential

Let’s look at what really matters in the long run, profit. When you break it down, your margarita machine isn’t just equipment. It’s an investment that should pay you back fast.

Start with the math. If you’re selling margaritas for five to eight bucks a pop, it doesn’t take long to cover the cost of a good machine. With a National Equipment unit, you could be paid off in a matter of weeks, not months. That’s because you’re not sinking a huge chunk of cash into the machine upfront.

Compare that to a Taylor, where you’re paying thousands more just for the name. That higher price tag means a slower breakeven point and tighter margins. It drags out your return on investment and puts more pressure on your business from day one.

With the National Equipment model, the lower cost means you start profiting sooner. Every drink you serve after that breakeven point is money in your pocket, not just recouping a bloated equipment bill. If your goal is to build a lean, profitable operation, this is the kind of advantage that adds up fast.

Conclusion: Don’t Overpay for a Name

You don’t need to spend nine grand to serve an ice-cold, top-shelf margarita. The drink doesn’t care what brand name is on the side of the machine. What matters is performance, speed, and reliability.

The National Equipment Margarita Machine gives you everything you need without the inflated price. It delivers smooth drinks, keeps up with demand, and doesn’t eat into your profits before you’ve even poured your first round.

If you want to save money, serve faster, and grow your bottom line, this is the machine to do it with. Keep your operation tight, your drinks flowing, and your margins strong. That’s how smart businesses win.

The 10 Commandments Of The Juicing Business

So, you want to open a juice bar. Or maybe you already have one and you’re wondering why it feels like you’re working 12-hour days just to break even. The juicing business can be awesome, but it’ll chew you up and spit you out if you don’t know what you’re doing.

This isn’t some feel-good, “follow your dreams” blog post. These are the hard-earned, battle-tested rules that separate the shops that thrive from the ones that close before their second summer.

Learn them. Live them. Juice on.

Juicing business commandments

1. Thou Shalt Know Thy Margins

This one’s first for a reason. If you don’t know how much money you’re actually making on each bottle, you’re not running a business. You’re running a really expensive hobby. Too many juice bar owners are so focused on ingredients and good vibes that they forget about the numbers. That’s a rookie mistake, and it’ll wreck you faster than a dull blade during a lunch rush.

You need to break it down. What’s the cost of your produce per juice? Don’t ballpark it. Get exact. Factor in every single piece of the puzzle. The fruit, the veggies, the cup, the lid, the label, and even the straw. Then add in your labor, rent, electricity, water, and how much your juicer is costing you each day. Subtract all of that from your selling price. That’s your margin. If it’s not strong enough to pay the bills and still give you a paycheck, something has to change.

Too many shops price emotionally. They think no one will pay more than six bucks for a juice or they keep an expensive blend on the menu because it’s their personal favorite. That kind of thinking will bury you. Price your juice based on what you need to stay alive, not what you think people want to see.

At the end of the day, if you’re guessing your margins, you’re gambling with your business. And in this business, the ones who survive are the ones who know their numbers cold.

2. Thou Shalt Not Skimp on Equipment

Look, we get it. Good commercial juicers aren’t cheap. But neither is shutting down in the middle of a Saturday rush because your bargain-bin machine just tapped out. If you’re serious about making money in the juicing business, your equipment has to be ready to go to war every single day. This is your engine. If it breaks down, everything stops.

That flashy $300 juicer you found online might look fine on paper, but it wasn’t built for volume. It was built for someone making green juice once a week in their kitchen. You’re not that person. You’re cranking out dozens, maybe hundreds of juices a day. You need a machine that can keep up, stay cool, and clean up fast so you can do it all again tomorrow.

Cheap machines don’t just break. They slow you down, waste produce, make your juice foamier, and wear your staff out. They turn what should be a smooth operation into a frustrating grind. That’s bad for your team, your customers, and your bottom line.

So do yourself a favor. Invest in commercial-grade equipment from the start. Get the machines that are built to last, easy to clean, and designed to handle real volume. You’ll spend more upfront, but you’ll thank yourself every single time you survive a lunch rush without a breakdown. Strong tools build strong businesses.

3. Thou Shalt Keep It Fresh

This is non-negotiable. If your ingredients aren’t fresh, your juice isn’t good. Period. People can taste the difference, and they’re not paying premium prices for limp kale or mushy apples. Fresh produce isn’t just about flavor. It’s about texture, color, shelf life, and most importantly, your reputation.

You’re in the business of health, energy, and clean fuel. So if your spinach is looking tired or your pineapple smells like it’s had a rough week, you’ve already lost. One bad sip is all it takes for a customer to never come back. Worse, they’ll leave a review that hits harder than a one-star uppercut to your Yelp page.

Yes, it takes more effort. Yes, you’ll have to build solid relationships with your suppliers and stay on top of your deliveries. And yeah, sometimes you’ll eat a little waste to keep the standards high. But that’s the cost of doing business at a high level.

Fresh ingredients lead to better-tasting juice, better reviews, better photos, and a better brand. Keep it fresh or risk being forgotten.

4. Thou Shalt Respect the Prep

This is the part no one wants to talk about. It’s not flashy. There’s no social media glory in peeling carrots, washing spinach, or scrubbing a juicer screen. But this is the foundation of your whole operation. Skip it or rush it, and everything else falls apart.

Prep is where consistency is built. When your ingredients are cut right, portioned right, and prepped the same way every time, your juice actually tastes the way it’s supposed to. It keeps your recipes dialed in and your service running smooth. But if your prep game is sloppy, you’ll get drinks that taste different from one day to the next, and customers who stop trusting what they’re getting.

It also affects speed. Good prep means your team isn’t scrambling around mid-shift trying to peel ginger or slice apples on the fly. Everything’s ready to go, which means faster service, shorter lines, and fewer mistakes.

It’s not glamorous. It’s not exciting. But if you want to build a legit, high-performing juice business, you need to treat prep like it’s mission-critical, because it is. Respect the process or be ready to redo everything later.

5. Thou Shalt Build a Brand, Not Just a Juice Bar

Anyone can open a juice bar. Throw some fruit in a blender, slap a chalkboard menu on the wall, and you’re technically in business. But if you want to last, if you want people to actually care, you need more than juice. You need a brand. That means customers aren’t just showing up for the drink. They’re showing up for the vibe, the feeling, and the story behind it.

Your logo, your colors, the music in the background, how your staff talks to people, it all matters. It all shapes how customers experience your space. Maybe you’re the upbeat, no-nonsense juice spot that pumps out hip hop and serves athletes on the go. Or maybe you’re clean, modern, and all about holistic wellness. Whatever you are, lean into it. Don’t try to be everything to everyone.

People remember stories. They connect with missions. If you started this because of your own health journey, or because you wanted to bring real nutrition to your community, say that. Post it. Own it. That’s how you build loyalty. Juice may be your product, but brand is what keeps people coming back. Without one, you’re just another place selling liquid in a cup. With one, you become part of their routine.

6. Thou Shalt Market Daily, Not Occasionally

If you’re not posting, you’re invisible. Simple as that. You could have the best juice in town, but if no one sees it, no one’s buying it. The game has changed. You can’t rely on foot traffic and hope someone just wanders in. You’ve got to be in their face every single day.

That means showing up on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, wherever your people hang out. Post your best-looking juice, get a quick video of a fresh press, share a customer testimonial, drop a limited-time promo. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be there. You want people thinking about your shop when they wake up, when they scroll at lunch, and when they’re craving something clean after a workout.

This is a daily habit, just like prepping produce or cleaning your machine. If you treat marketing like an afterthought, don’t be surprised when business is slow. The juice bar that stays top of mind is the one that wins. Keep the content flowing, even if it’s just a quick behind-the-scenes shot or a goofy reel. Out of sight means out of business.

7. Thou Shalt Not Ignore Cleaning

Juicing is messy. That’s just part of the deal. But if you’re not staying on top of it, that mess will catch up with you fast. A dirty juicer slows everything down. Blades get gunked up, filters clog, juice quality drops, and suddenly you’re falling behind with a line out the door. Even worse, you’re putting your machine at risk. Nothing shortens the life of a juicer faster than neglect.

Now zoom out and look at the whole shop. Sticky floors, juice splatter on the walls, flies around the trash, no one wants to come back to that. Health inspectors definitely won’t like it. And all it takes is one customer with a phone and a bad attitude to turn a sloppy counter into a viral disaster.

Clean as you go. Make it part of your rhythm. Everyone on your team should know how to break down a juicer, wipe down surfaces, and keep the place looking sharp. It’s not just about appearances. It’s about performance, safety, and showing your customers you give a damn. A clean shop runs better. Period.

8. Thou Shalt Offer Samples Like Candy

You want to move more juice? Let people taste it. Simple. Samples are one of the easiest, most effective sales tools you’ve got. They break the ice, start conversations, and most importantly, they convert browsers into buyers. Someone might walk in just to look around. Give them a sip of your best seller, and now they’re buying two bottles and asking about your cleanse program.

This isn’t some new marketing hack. It’s old-school, and it still works because it taps into human nature. People trust what they can taste. If your juice is actually good, and it better be, then let it do the talking. A tiny cup can lead to a big sale, and a regular customer.

Make it part of your system. Have sample cups ready. Train your staff to offer them without hesitation. You’re not giving juice away. You’re investing in your next sale. Never underestimate the power of a free sip. It’s like giving out victory in a cup.

9. Thou Shalt Train Thy Staff

Your team can make or break your juice bar. One lazy or clueless employee can mess up orders, waste produce, slow down the line, and kill the vibe for everyone in the shop. It doesn’t matter how good your recipes are if the person behind the counter is guessing their way through every blend.

Training isn’t optional. It’s mandatory. Everyone on your team should know how to prep produce, run the machines, clean properly, and talk to customers like they actually want them to come back. If they can’t, that’s on you. Teach them, drill it, and hold the line. This business moves fast, and there’s no room for weak links.

Consistency is everything. Customers expect their favorite juice to taste the same every time. That only happens when your staff is sharp, confident, and knows what they’re doing. So don’t just throw people in and hope for the best. Build a team that runs like a machine. That’s how you scale. That’s how you win.

Juice bar

10. Thou Shalt Price for Profit, Not Guilt

Let’s get one thing straight. Juice is not cheap to make. You’re using fresh produce, high-quality ingredients, powerful equipment, and trained staff. That all adds up. So stop feeling bad about charging what it’s actually worth. You’re not just selling a drink. You’re selling health, energy, and convenience in a bottle.

A lot of juice bar owners underprice out of guilt. They think people won’t pay more than a few bucks, or they worry about looking greedy. But if your prices aren’t covering your costs and leaving room for profit, you’re not going to make it. You’ll just grind harder and earn less until the whole thing falls apart.

Know your numbers. Set your prices based on what it takes to stay alive and grow. Not based on fear. If your juice delivers, if it tastes great, makes people feel good, and fits their lifestyle, they’ll pay without hesitation. You’re not in this to break even. You’re in it to win. Price like it.

Wrap Up

There are two kinds of juice bars out there. The ones that make it, and the ones that don’t. The difference isn’t just the ingredients. It’s the mindset. The attention to detail. The grit. Anyone can blend fruit, but building a business that lasts? That takes discipline, hustle, and a willingness to do the boring stuff better than anyone else.

These commandments aren’t suggestions. They’re the blueprint. Follow them, and you give yourself a real shot at running something great. Ignore them, and you’ll join the long list of shops that faded out after the hype wore off.

So train your team. Price with purpose. Clean like it matters. And for the love of juice, know your damn margins.

You’re not just serving drinks. You’re building a machine. Treat it like one.

Why You Should Sharpen Your Nutrifaster N450 Blade (and When to Do It)

Your Nutrifaster N450 Juicer is a workhorse, built for high-speed, high-volume juicing. But even the toughest machines need maintenance, and one of the smartest moves you can make is keeping your blade sharp.

Over time, the blade on your N450 naturally dulls from constant use. A dull blade doesn’t just slow you down; it also lowers your juice yield and puts extra strain on your machine. The good news is, unlike some other juicers, the N450 blade is built to be sharpened and reused, saving you money and keeping your juicer performing like new.

Why You Should Get Your Blade Sharpened

  • Boost Your Juice Production: A sharp blade cuts cleaner and faster, pulling more juice out of every fruit and vegetable. Dull blades tear and mash produce, wasting valuable juice.

  • Protect Your Juicer: When your blade is dull, the motor has to work harder to compensate, leading to unnecessary wear and tear. A sharpened blade keeps the machine running smoother and reduces the risk of costly repairs.

  • Save Money: Sharpening your existing blade is much cheaper than buying a brand-new one. Blade sharpening gives you nearly the same performance at a fraction of the cost.

  • Keep Juice Quality High: Cleaner cuts mean better juice. A sharp blade preserves the natural flavor and texture of your juice, keeping your product quality consistent.

Used Nutrifaster n450 blade vs new

When Should You Sharpen the Blade?

We recommend sharpening your Nutrifaster N450 blade every 4–6 months, depending on usage. If you notice your juicer slowing down, your juice yield dropping, or your machine feeling like it’s straining more than usual, it’s time to get that blade touched up.

Need Blade Sharpening Services?

We offer professional blade sharpening to keep your Nutrifaster N450 performing at its best.
It’s fast, affordable, and way cheaper than buying a replacement.

Why Replacing the Blades on Your Zummo Z22 Juicer Matters (and When to Do It)

If you own a Zummo Z22 Centrifugal Juicer, you already know it’s built for fast, efficient juicing. But like any hardworking machine, a little maintenance goes a long way, and the blades are one of the most important parts to stay on top of.

Over time, even the best centrifugal blades wear down. With the Z22, sharpening isn’t an option. These blades are specifically designed to be replaced rather than resharpened. That’s why we recommend replacing the blades every six months to keep your juicer running at peak performance.

Zummo Z22 centrifugal juicers

Why Blade Replacement Matters

  • Maximize Your Juice Yield: Dull blades can slow down the juicing process and leave valuable juice trapped inside your fruits and vegetables. Fresh blades keep efficiency and yield high.

  • Protect Your Machine: Old, worn blades force the motor to work harder than it should. Over time, that extra strain can lead to breakdowns and costly repairs — something easily avoided with regular blade replacement.

  • Maintain Juice Quality: Sharp blades cut cleaner, preserving the taste, texture, and consistency of your juice. Dull blades tear instead of slicing, which can negatively affect juice quality.

  • No Sharpening Required: Unlike other machines, the Z22’s blades aren’t meant to be sharpened. Replacing them is the best and only way to maintain top performance.

New vs. Used Commercial Juicers: Which One is Right for Your Business?

Here at Freshly Squeezed we sell both new and used commercial juicers.

There are benefits and drawbacks to going with either, but you definitely want to know what you are getting into with each.

This article breaks down the pros and cons of both options, helping you decide which one makes the most sense for your business.

Whether you’re starting fresh or upgrading an existing setup, knowing what to expect from new and used commercial juicers will help you make a smarter investment.

Let’s get to it.

New vs used commercial juicers

Cost Comparison: Upfront Investment vs. Long-Term Value

Don’t kid yourself, new commercial juicers are expensive, and the bigger they are the more they cost.

This often starts the debate, should you buy new or should you buy used?

Buying New

Buying new is great, no one has touched the machine, all the parts are brand new and the blade is razor sharp.

Not to mention the machine is spotless and clean.

On top of that, you can expect to run for a long time before you would even think about having any problems.

The downside…

New juicers can be pretty expensive, some go for over $10,000 which isn’t chump change. That said, if you have the money it will bring you some peace of mind knowing you have a top-notch machine in its prime.

Buying Used

On the other hand, buying used can save you a good amount of cash. You can buy used commercial citrus juicers for less than half of what you would pay for a new one.

The problem is, buying a used juicer is a lot like buying a used car, you aren’t really sure how the original owner treated it or how well they maintained it.

The good new is, if you buy it from us, it does come with a 90-day warranty. Most people won’t warranty theirs and you can easily get burned.

That said if you can get your hands on a good used juicer it can go a long way financially, especially if you are just getting started in the business.

Bottom line: If you’ve got the budget and want the easiest, most reliable option, go new. If you’re willing to take a little risk and do some homework, a high-quality used juicer can be a steal. Just make sure you’re not buying someone else’s problems.

Used Goodnature X1 Mini

Performance & Efficiency: Do New Juicers Offer Better Output?

If you’re running a juice bar or cranking out fresh juice all day, performance matters. New juicers bring the heat with the latest features: higher juice yield, better motor efficiency, and improved extraction technology.

That means you’re getting more juice per piece of fruit, less waste, and a machine that keeps up with heavy demand without slowing down. I

f you’re all about speed and maximizing profit per pound of produce, a new juicer is built to handle the grind.

Used juicers? It depends. If the previous owner took care of it, an older model can still perform well. But an overworked, poorly maintained machine might struggle with slower output, weaker motors, and less juice per squeeze.

Also, the older the juicer is, the more out-of-date it is. It might not be able to perform as well as the new ones even if it is in mint condition.

If you’re running a smaller operation and don’t need to churn out gallons by the hour, a solid used juicer can still get the job done without wrecking your budget. Just make sure you know what you’re getting before you buy.

Who should buy what?

If your business relies on high-volume, high-efficiency juicing, go new, you’ll make up the cost in time saved and extra juice extracted. If you’re running a café or a low-traffic spot where the juicer isn’t running full throttle all day, a well-maintained used unit can be a smart, cost-effective move.

Just don’t grab the first cheap machine you find, you don’t want to end up with a lemon.

blender vs juicer

Maintenance & Repairs: What to Expect

Here’s the deal: new juicers are like brand-new cars. They run smooth, require minimal maintenance early on, and if something does go wrong, parts are easy to find.

You’re getting a machine that’s built for efficiency, and manufacturers usually have plenty of replacement parts in stock.

Plus, if anything major happens, that sweet manufacturer warranty has your back. No stress, no scrambling for repairs.

Used juicers? Different ball game. If the machine was taken care of, you might not have any issues for a while.

But if it’s been through the wringer, expect wear and tear, potential breakdowns, and the occasional scavenger hunt for replacement parts.

Some older models are tanks and will keep running for years, but others? Good luck finding that obscure part from a discontinued machine.

Pro tip: If you’re buying used, do your homework. Check if replacement parts are still being made, see how easy it is to service the machine, and find out how much repairs could cost. The last thing you want is to save money upfront only to spend more later keeping a dying machine on life support.

Warranty & Reliability: Risk vs. Peace of Mind

When you buy a new commercial juicer, you’re getting more than just a shiny, never-used machine, you’re getting peace of mind. Most manufacturers offer 1-5 year warranties, plus customer support if anything goes wrong.

If a part fails or the motor burns out unexpectedly, you’re covered. No surprise repair bills, no downtime disasters. Just smooth, worry-free juicing.

Now, with used juicers, things can get tricky. Many companies sell them as-is with little to no warranty, meaning if something breaks a week after you buy it, you’re on your own. And if you haven’t found out yet, juicer parts aren’t cheap.

That’s where we do things differently. We include a 90-day warranty with every used juicer we sell, so you’re not left gambling on reliability.

We thoroughly inspect and refurbish our machines before they go out, making sure you’re getting a juicer that’s ready to work.

Bottom line: If your business can’t afford downtime, a new juicer is the safest choice. But if you’re looking for a deal and want the best of both worlds. A lower price with a warranty to back it up, our used juicers are a smart way to save without the usual risks.

Depreciation & Resale Value

When it comes to depreciation and resale value the new juicers easily win this category.

A new juicer will have a higher resale value for longer and it will take longer to depreciate than a used one will.

If you are concerned about resale and depreciation but still want to buy used it would be best to buy one that is to get one that is used but not very old, this way it still has a good bit of value.

Commercial juicer depreciation

Conclusion: Which One is Right for You?

Biodegradable Bottles

For brands looking to bottle their juice while staying eco-conscious, our Biodegradable EcoClear Bottles are the perfect solution. These bottles don’t just hold your juice—they reflect your commitment to sustainability.

Made with our EcoClear manufacturing process, these bottles are designed to break down in 5 to 7 years under landfill conditions, a dramatic improvement over the 120-200 years it takes for regular PET bottles. All this while maintaining the durability and clarity you need to showcase your product.

EcoClear bottles are packed with features that make them ideal for food packaging. They’re FDA and EU compliant, BPA-free, and free of heavy metals or hazardous materials. The real standout, though, is how they perform.

They’re shelf-stable, unaffected by light, heat, or moisture, but in waste environments, the EcoClear additive kicks in, allowing natural microbial activity to break down the polymer. This reduces your carbon footprint while maintaining the premium feel your customers expect.

With today’s consumers actively seeking greener products, using EcoClear bottles not only helps the planet but also builds trust with eco-conscious shoppers. Available in classic French Square and Boston Round designs in 12 and 16-ounce sizes, these bottles are ready to elevate your brand’s sustainability story.

Recycled PET Bottles

For brands looking to combine sustainability with performance, our Recycled PET (rPET) Bottles are a game-changer. By incorporating rPET into your product line, you’re not just choosing a bottle—you’re taking a step toward a circular economy where plastic is collected, reprocessed, and reused.

These bottles are made with post-consumer recycled PET, giving old plastic new life without sacrificing quality or recyclability. And the impact is real: just 10 million bottles with 50% rPET content can cut greenhouse gas emissions by 230 tons of CO2. That’s the same as what 270 acres of U.S. forest can absorb in a year.

Our rPET bottles are FDA and EU compliant, BPA-free, and maintain the same durability and shelf stability as standard PET options. While they may have a slightly milky appearance, their eco-credentials shine bright, allowing your brand to stand at the forefront of environmental responsibility. Available in the same trusted designs as our traditional PET bottles, these are the perfect choice for brands that care about the planet and their product presentation.

How Much Juice is in Different Citrus Fruits?

If you are starting a juice bar or are looking to add fresh juice to your menu, then the amount of juice you can squeeze from each fruit is important.

This lets you know how many fruits you will need for each glass or bottle of juice. And when you know how many fruits you need, you will know how much each glass or bottle of juice will cost, and you will know what to charge so you can make a profit.

Fruit Sizes Matter

Of course, the size of fruits can vary a bit, so these numbers will be more of a general guide than a rule of thumb.

For example, there are some oranges that are about the size of a lemon and there are other oranges that are about the size of a grapefruit. Obviosly you will get different amounts of juice from each.

The guide below is based on the average size of oranges, lemons, limes, etc. If you have an oversized orange or lemon, you will get more juice, and if it’s smaller, you get less.

I know all that is common sense, but common sense isn’t all that common, so I figured it needed to be said.

How Much Juice Is in One Orange?

Oranges and juice on a table

Oranges are by far the most common citrus fruit that people juice, so we will start what most of you came here for.

Typically, you can get about 4 to 5 tablespoons, or 1/4 to 1/3 cups, of juice from one orange. So, to fill a cup with fresh orange juice, you’ll need around three oranges. Keep in mind that this estimate is for common oranges.

Varieties like Valencia, navel, mandarin, or blood oranges will give you different amounts of juice. On average, a pound of oranges (usually two medium-sized fruits) will yield about 8 to 10 tablespoons of juice.

Fresh Orange to Orange Juice Conversions

Here’s a handy guide to help you figure out how many oranges you need for your desired amount of juice:

  • 1/4 Orange = 1 Tbsp Orange Juice
  • 1 Orange = 4 Tbsp or 1/4 Cup Orange Juice
  • 2 Oranges = 1/2 Cup Orange Juice
  • 3 Oranges = 3/4 Cup Orange Juice
  • 4 Oranges = 1 Cup Orange Juice

Remember, these conversions are approximations. The actual amount can vary based on the fruit’s ripeness, size, and variety.

How Much Juice Is in One Lemon?

Lemon juice

On average, you can get about 3 tablespoons of juice from one lemon. So, to make a cup of fresh lemon juice, you’ll need about 5 and a quarter lemons. Because some lemons are less juicy than others, it’s safer to count on needing 5 and a half lemons for a full cup.

Typically, a pound of lemons equals 4 or 5 fruits, giving you around 12 to 15 tablespoons, or 3/4 cup to 1 cup, of lemon juice.

Fresh Lemon to Lemon Juice Conversions

Here’s a quick guide to help you convert fresh lemons into the amount of juice you need:

  • 1/3 Lemon = 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 Lemon = 3 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 1/4 Lemons = 1/4 Cup Lemon Juice
  • 2 1/2 Lemons = 1/2 Cup Lemon Juice
  • 4 Lemons = 3/4 Cup Lemon Juice
  • 5 1/4 Lemons = 1 Cup Lemon Juice

Just a heads up, these conversions are rough estimates. The actual amount of juice can vary based on the ripeness, size, and variety of the lemons.

How Much Juice Is in One Lime?

Lime juice and limes

On average, you can get about 2 tablespoons of juice from one lime. So, to make a cup of fresh lime juice, you’ll need around 8 limes. Typically, a pound of limes equals 4 to 5 fruits, giving you between 8 and 10 tablespoons, or 1/2 to 2/3 cups, of lime juice.

Fresh Lime to Lime Juice Conversions

Here’s a handy guide to help you convert fresh limes into the amount of juice you need:

  • 1/2 Lime = 1 Tbsp Lime Juice
  • 1 Lime = 2 Tbsp Lime Juice
  • 2 Limes = 1/4 Cup Lime Juice
  • 4 Limes = 1/2 Cup Lime Juice
  • 6 Limes = 3/4 Cup Lime Juice
  • 8 Limes = 1 Cup Lime Juice

Just keep in mind, these conversions are rough estimates. The actual amount of juice can vary based on the ripeness, size, and variety of the limes.

How Much Juice Is in One Grapefruit?

Grafreuit juice

A standard grapefruit gives you about 12 tablespoons, or 3/4 cup, of juice. So, to get a full cup of grapefruit juice, you’ll need about 1 and 1/4 grapefruits. Typically, a pound of grapefruits equals 1 1/2 to 2 fruits, yielding around 1 1/2 cups of fresh juice.

Fresh Grapefruit to Grapefruit Juice Conversions

Here’s a quick guide to help you convert fresh grapefruits into the amount of juice you need:

  • 1/3 Grapefruit = 1/4 Cup Grapefruit Juice
  • 2/3 Grapefruit = 1/2 Cup Grapefruit Juice
  • 1 Grapefruit = 3/4 Cup Grapefruit Juice
  • 1 1/4 Grapefruit = 1 Cup Grapefruit Juice

Keep in mind, these conversions are rough estimates. The actual amount of juice can vary based on the ripeness, size, and variety of the grapefruits.

Get More Juice With A Commercial Citrus Juicer

Not only does having a commercial citrus juicer make it a lot easier to juice the fruits, these machines can also get you a better yeild than you get with hand juicing.

Zummo Juicers can extract about 3.3 ounces of juice from each orange, which is slightly more than the 1/4 cup per orange listed above.

Zummo juicers work so well that you can take the spent peel from a Zummo machine and sqeeze it with all of your might and you won’t get a single drip out of it. I have actually tried this myself and it is true and quite remarkable.

Zummo also makes citrus juicers that are specifically made for juicing lemons and limes. These machines are specifically calibrated to handle the tougher peels and inner fruit of lemons and limes and also use cups and balls that are fitted to work with limes and lemons.

Wrap Up

Understanding the juice yield from different citrus fruits is crucial for running a successful juice bar or adding fresh juice to your menu. By knowing how many fruits you need per glass or bottle, you can better manage costs and pricing.

Remember, the size and variety of your fruits will impact the amount of juice you get. Using a commercial citrus juicer can enhance your yield and efficiency, making it a valuable investment. With this knowledge, you’re better equipped to provide fresh, delicious juice to your customers while maintaining a profitable business.

Blender Vs Juicer: What’s The Difference?

Are you standing in your kitchen, staring at your blender and juicer, and wondering what exactly sets them apart? You’re not alone. Both gadgets have their merits, but they serve different purposes and produce distinct results.

If you’re trying to decide which one deserves a spot on your countertop, you’ve come to the right place.

In this article, we’ll break down the differences between blenders and juicers, their unique benefits, and how to choose the right one for your needs.

Whether you’re into smoothies, fresh juice, or both, we’ve got you covered.

Let’s get started.

blender vs juicer

What is a Blender?

A blender is your kitchen’s all-purpose mixing marvel. Essentially, it’s a motorized appliance with sharp blades designed to chop, puree, and blend ingredients into smooth concoctions. It’s your go-to gadget for anything that needs a good mix.

Blenders come in several varieties to suit different needs. Countertop blenders are the most common, featuring a jar with blades at the bottom and perfect for making smoothies or large batches of soups.

Immersion blenders, also known as stick blenders, are handheld and great for blending directly in pots or pitchers – think pureed soups and quick sauces. Then there are high-speed blenders, like the Vitamix or Blendtec, which pack a powerful punch and can handle tough ingredients like nuts and ice with ease.

Common uses for blenders include making creamy smoothies, silky soups, and delicious sauces. They’re also handy for crushing ice, whipping up pancake batter, or even making nut butter. In short, if it needs to be smooth and blended, a blender is your best bet.

What is a Juicer?

A juicer is your ticket to fresh, nutrient-packed juices. Unlike blenders, juicers extract liquid from fruits and vegetables, leaving the pulp behind. This means you get a smooth, concentrated juice that’s easy to drink and packed with vitamins.

Juicers come in a few different types, each with its own set of benefits. Centrifugal juicers are the most common and work by grinding fruits and veggies into a pulp, then spinning it at high speeds to separate the juice. They’re quick and efficient, perfect for everyday juicing.

Masticating juicers, also known as slow or cold-press juicers, use an auger to crush produce slowly, preserving more nutrients and yielding more juice. They’re great for leafy greens and wheatgrass. Citrus juicers are specialized for, you guessed it, citrus fruits. They’re simple to use and perfect for getting every drop out of your oranges, lemons, and limes.

Juicers are ideal for making fresh fruit and vegetable juices. Whether you’re into a morning glass of orange juice, a green juice packed with kale and spinach, or a refreshing carrot-ginger blend, a juicer will help you create vibrant, healthy drinks with ease.

Key Differences Between Blenders and Juicers

When it comes to blenders and juicers, their main differences boil down to purpose, functionality, and the results they produce. Let’s break it down:

Purpose and Functionality Blenders are all about whole food processing. They take your fruits and veggies and blend them into a smooth consistency, retaining all the fiber. This means you get a thicker, more filling drink like a smoothie or soup, with all the nutrients and fiber intact. Blenders are perfect for when you want to enjoy everything the ingredient has to offer, without losing any part of it.

Juicers, on the other hand, are designed for extracting juice and separating pulp and fiber. They strip away the solid parts of fruits and veggies, leaving you with a pure, liquid juice that’s smooth and easy to drink. Juicers are your go-to for a quick, concentrated shot of nutrients, perfect for when you want a light, refreshing beverage without the bulk of fiber.

Nutritional Differences Blenders retain all the fiber from the fruits and vegetables, which is great for digestion and keeping you full longer. Juicers remove the fiber, resulting in a more concentrated nutrient boost per serving. You get more vitamins and minerals in each sip, making it a potent way to start your day.

Texture and Consistency Blenders produce a thick, smoothie-like consistency, which can be more filling and satisfying. On the flip side, juicers deliver a thin, liquid consistency that’s easy to drink and refreshing, especially on a hot day.

Waste Production Blenders use the whole produce, resulting in minimal waste. Everything you put in gets blended up and ends up in your drink. Juicers, however, produce pulp waste as they separate the juice from the fiber. This can be composted or repurposed, but it does mean more leftover material.

In a nutshell, blenders are your all-in-one, fiber-packed drink creators, while juicers give you a smooth, nutrient-rich beverage with a bit more waste. Choose based on your texture preference, nutritional goals, and how much waste you’re willing to handle.

Pros and Cons of Blenders

Pros

  • Versatility: Blenders are multi-talented. They can whip up smoothies, soups, purees, sauces, and even nut butters. If you want an all-in-one kitchen companion, a blender is your best bet.
  • Retains Dietary Fiber: Since blenders use the whole fruit or vegetable, you keep all the fiber. This is great for digestion and helps keep you full longer.
  • Generally Easier to Clean: Most blenders are straightforward to clean, especially those with removable blades and dishwasher-safe parts.

Cons

  • Not Ideal for Juicing: Blenders aren’t the best for juicing certain fruits and vegetables. You’ll end up with a thick smoothie instead of a clear juice.
  • Can Be Noisy: Blenders can be quite loud, especially high-speed models. This might be a downside if you’re blending early in the morning or late at night.

Pros and Cons of Juicers

Pros

  • Clear, Pulp-Free Juice: Juicers provide smooth, clear juice without any pulp. Perfect for those who prefer a light, refreshing drink.
  • Higher Nutrient Absorption: By removing the fiber, juicers concentrate the nutrients, making them easier for your body to absorb quickly.
  • Great for Specific Juice Recipes: Juicers are excellent for making specific juice blends and recipes, especially those involving leafy greens and hard veggies.

Cons

  • Removes Fiber: Juicers strip out the fiber from fruits and vegetables, which is a downside if you’re looking to maintain fiber intake in your diet.
  • More Waste: Juicers produce pulp waste, which means you’ll need to find ways to dispose of or use the leftover pulp.
  • Harder to Clean: Juicers often have more parts and can be trickier to clean, especially if you’re using a masticating juicer.

Choosing the Right Appliance for Your Needs

When deciding between a blender and a juicer, consider your lifestyle and dietary goals. If you’re looking for meal replacements, enjoy thick smoothies, or want a versatile appliance that can handle everything from soups to sauces, a blender is ideal for you.

It’s also great if you want to retain the fiber in your diet. On the other hand, if your focus is on nutrient-dense juices, quick absorption of vitamins and minerals, and clear, pulp-free beverages, a juicer is the way to go. It’s perfect for those who love fresh juice as a daily staple.

You should also consider space and budget. Blenders tend to be more affordable than juicers, especially high-end masticating juicers. However, high-speed blenders can be pricey too. Additionally, blenders generally take up less space and can be easier to store.

Juicers, especially larger models, can be bulkier and require more counter space. Think about your kitchen setup and how much space you can dedicate to your new appliance.

Conclusion

To recap, blenders and juicers each offer unique benefits depending on your needs and preferences. Blenders are versatile, retaining all the fiber and making them perfect for smoothies, soups, and sauces. Juicers, on the other hand, provide nutrient-dense, pulp-free juice ideal for quick absorption and refreshing drinks. While blenders are generally more affordable and easier to store, juicers can offer a more concentrated nutrient boost.

Ultimately, the best choice comes down to your individual health goals and lifestyle. If you prefer hearty, fiber-rich blends or need a multifunctional kitchen tool, a blender might be your best bet. If you’re focused on consuming fresh, nutrient-packed juices, then a juicer could be the right fit. Consider what aligns best with your daily routine and dietary objectives to make the most informed decision.

#1 Centrifugal Juicer

Zummo Z22 centrifugal juicers

If you’re thinking about opening a juice bar without a centrifugal juicer, you might as well be trying to swim without water. These bad boys are the speed demons of the juicing world, and they’re absolutely essential for keeping your customers’ thirst at bay.

Picture this: It’s rush hour at your juice joint, and you’ve got a line of hangry health nuts stretching out the door. Your centrifugal juicer is about to become your new best friend. This high-speed hero can turn a whole apple into liquid goodness faster than you can say “kale yeah!”

Here’s the lowdown: Centrifugal juicers work by spinning the living daylights out of your fruits and veggies at warp speed. We’re talking thousands of RPMs here, folks. It’s like a carnival ride for your produce, only instead of screams, you get delicious, nutritious juice.

Sure, some juice purists might turn up their noses and mumble something about “cold-pressed this” and “slow-juiced that.” But when you’ve got a queue of caffeine-deprived office workers demanding their morning green juice fix, you’ll be thanking your lucky stars for your trusty centrifugal sidekick.

Plus, these juicers are usually easier to clean than your average college dorm room. A quick rinse, and you’re back in business. No time for a juice cleanse when you’re running a juice bar, am I right?

#2 Blenders

Blendtec Connoisseur 825 SpaceSaver® Commercial Blender

Every juice bar needs at least one good blender, and here’s why. While juicers are great for extracting pure juice, blenders are the powerhouse behind those thick, creamy smoothies and blended drinks that customers love. A high-quality blender can handle everything from leafy greens to frozen fruits, ensuring a smooth consistency every time.

A good blender doesn’t just stop at drinks. It opens up a world of possibilities for your menu. Think about blending soups, sauces, and even nut butters. This versatility can help you expand your offerings and cater to a wider range of customers.

Investing in a reliable blender also means durability and efficiency. You don’t want to be stuck with a machine that overheats or breaks down during the morning rush. A sturdy blender will keep up with high demand, making your operations smoother and keeping your customers happy.

When it comes to commercial blenders, there are really only two names that matter: Blendtec and Vitamix. Both are high-quality and commercial-grade, which is what you will need. Don’t be fooled by the low-priced blenders on Amazon that call themselves commercial-grade; they aren’t.

#3 Refridgerator Units

atosa Bottom Mount Three (3) Door Reach-in RefrigeratorGood refrigeration units are crucial for any juice bar. Fresh ingredients are the heart of your business, and without proper storage, you risk spoilage and waste. Quality refrigeration keeps your fruits, vegetables, and other perishables at their peak, ensuring every juice and smoothie tastes as fresh as possible.

Investing in reliable refrigeration also means you can buy in bulk and store ingredients longer, which can save you money in the long run. Plus, a well-organized refrigeration system makes it easier to manage inventory and keep your kitchen running smoothly.

Don’t forget about display fridges, either. These units showcase your products, making them more appealing to customers. A sleek, well-lit fridge filled with vibrant, fresh ingredients can boost sales and enhance the overall aesthetic of your juice bar. In short, good refrigeration is about maintaining quality, reducing waste, and improving efficiency—key factors in running a successful juice bar.

#4 Ice Machine

ITV Ice Machine Spika

A good ice machine is a must-have for every juice bar. Ice is more than just a way to chill drinks; it’s essential for making refreshing smoothies, iced teas, and other cold beverages that keep customers coming back, especially during those hot summer months.

Having a reliable ice machine ensures you never run out during peak hours. Imagine the frustration of telling a customer you can’t make their favorite iced drink because you’re out of ice. A dependable ice machine keeps your operations smooth and your customers satisfied.

Moreover, ice machines come in handy beyond just drinks. They’re great for keeping ingredients fresh when you’re prepping or displaying them. Plus, the right machine can produce ice in various shapes and sizes, adding a touch of flair to your drinks. In short, a good ice machine is all about efficiency, convenience, and keeping your juice bar cool—literally and figuratively.

#5 Cutting Boards and Knives

You won’t get very far in the juice bar business without knives and cutting boards. These might seem like basic items, but their importance can’t be overstated. High-quality knives ensure precise and efficient cutting, which is crucial when you’re dealing with a variety of fruits and vegetables. A sharp knife makes prep work quicker and safer, reducing the risk of accidents and ensuring you get the perfect slices and dices every time.

Cutting boards are equally important. They provide a safe, sanitary surface for food preparation. Opt for durable, easy-to-clean boards that can handle constant use without warping or retaining odors. Using the right cutting board can also help protect your knives from dulling too quickly.

Having a good set of cutting boards and knives streamlines your prep process, keeps your kitchen organized, and maintains a high standard of hygiene.

These tools might not be flashy, but they are essential for keeping your operations smooth and efficient, ensuring every juice and smoothie is made with the freshest, most perfectly prepped ingredients.

#6 Sinks and Dishwashers

kitchen sink

Sinks and dishwashers are indispensable for any juice bar (obviously). Cleanliness is paramount in the food and beverage industry, and having a reliable sink setup ensures that all your utensils, equipment, and surfaces stay hygienic. A good sink setup allows for efficient washing, rinsing, and sanitizing of your tools and produce, helping maintain the high standards your customers expect.

Dishwashers take this a step further by saving time and labor. Instead of manually scrubbing each item which totally sucks, you can rely on a commercial dishwasher to handle the load quickly and effectively. This not only speeds up your cleaning process but also ensures that everything is thoroughly sanitized, meeting health and safety regulations without the hassle.

Investing in quality sinks and dishwashers also means fewer breakdowns and maintenance issues. This reliability is crucial during busy periods when you can’t afford any downtime.

#7 Counters and Storage

Juice bar

Let’s face it, counters and storage might seem like the most obvious needs for a juice bar, but they’re the unsung heroes of your operation. Imagine trying to prep a smoothie on a cluttered, tiny counter. Not fun, right?

Spacious, well-organized counters give you the room to work your magic without feeling cramped. Plus, they help keep your workspace tidy, which is key for both efficiency and aesthetics.

Now, storage might not sound exciting, but it’s crucial. Without enough storage, where are you going to put all those fresh fruits, veggies, and superfoods? On the floor? I don’t think so. Good storage solutions keep everything in its place, making it easier to find what you need when you need it.

Think shelves, cabinets, and even under-counter storage to maximize your space.

Let’s not forget the impact on customer experience. A clean, organized juice bar with ample counter space looks professional and inviting. No one wants to see a chaotic mess behind the counter. So, while counters and storage might seem like no-brainers, they play a huge role in keeping your juice bar running smoothly and looking great.

#8 POS System

10 things you need for a juice bar

Alright, let’s talk about the lifeline of your juice bar—getting paid. Without a good POS (Point of Sale) system, you’re basically running a charity, and while that’s noble, it won’t keep the lights on. A reliable POS system is essential for smooth transactions, keeping your finances in check, and ensuring your customers can easily pay for their delicious drinks.

A top-notch POS system does more than just handle payments. It tracks sales, manages inventory, and provides valuable insights into what’s selling and what’s not. This data helps you make informed decisions, like knowing when to stock up on those popular acai bowls or when to cut back on less popular items.

Plus, a good POS system speeds up the checkout process, which keeps your lines moving and your customers happy. No one likes waiting around, especially when they’re in desperate need of their morning green juice fix. And let’s not forget about the modern conveniences like accepting mobile payments, splitting bills, and even offering loyalty programs—all of which can be seamlessly integrated into a great POS system.

#9 Glassware, Straws and Cups

Glassware, straws, and cups for to-go orders are the unsung heroes of any juice bar. Sure, they might seem like small details, but they play a big role in the customer experience and the overall functionality of your business.

First up, glassware. Having the right glassware elevates the presentation of your juices and smoothies. It’s like dressing up your drinks for success. Customers enjoy sipping from a sturdy, aesthetically pleasing glass that enhances their overall experience. Plus, quality glassware can be reused, cutting down on waste and keeping your eco-conscious customers happy.

Straws might seem like a tiny detail, but they’re essential. Offering eco-friendly options like paper, bamboo, or metal straws shows your commitment to sustainability. Plus, they pair perfectly with your stylish glassware, creating a cohesive, environmentally-friendly brand image.

Now, for the on-the-go crowd, sturdy, reliable to-go cups are a must. Customers are often in a rush, and they appreciate the convenience of taking their favorite juice or smoothie with them. Invest in durable, spill-proof cups that maintain the drink’s temperature and prevent leaks. Bonus points if you opt for biodegradable or recyclable materials, which appeal to the green-minded clientele.

#10 Decor and Seating

Juice bar interior

Let’s dive into decor and seating—two essential elements that turn your juice bar from a simple pit stop into a destination. Even the tastiest smoothies need a cool backdrop to truly shine.

First up, decor. This is where you get to showcase your brand’s personality. Bright, vibrant colors, eye-catching wall art, and a splash of greenery can transform your space into a lively and inviting haven. Plants not only look great but also bring a refreshing, natural touch that complements your fresh, healthy drinks.

And let’s not overlook the power of good lighting—ditch the harsh fluorescents for warm, cozy lights that make everything, and everyone, look a bit more Instagram-worthy.

Seating is equally important. Comfortable, stylish seating options can turn a quick juice stop into a leisurely hangout. Think cushy chairs, snug booths, and a few trendy bar stools to give your customers a variety of choices. Remember, no one wants to sip their smoothie while perched on a hard, uncomfortable seat. The more comfortable your seating, the longer customers will stay and the more they’ll enjoy their experience.

And here’s a pro tip: offer free Wi-Fi. People love to sip and surf, whether they’re working on their laptop or scrolling through their feed. It’s a small touch that can make a big difference.

Bonus Item

Citrus Juicer

Many smaller juice bars might not have room for a good citrus juicer, but if you do, it can be a nice touch.

These juicers can juice a complete range of citrus fruits, including oranges, lemon, lime, grapefruits and pomegranates.

These machines can go on the countertop or on a dedicated cabinet with wheels if you don’t have space on the countertop. Another nice aspect is that these machines can be operated by the customer, so you don’t need an employee to operate it. They also have citrus machines that allow the customer to pay at the machine, which is a nice passive way for you to make income from the machine. All you need to do is make sure it is stocked with fruit, and you are good to go.

Wrap Up

Running a successful juice bar goes beyond fresh ingredients and a prime location. It’s about having the right equipment and creating an inviting atmosphere. Essential tools like centrifugal juicers, blenders, and reliable POS systems ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction. Quality refrigeration, ice machines, and dishwashers keep operations smooth and hygienic.

Don’t underestimate the impact of comfortable seating, stylish decor, and practical counters and storage for a tidy workspace. Glassware, eco-friendly straws, and durable to-go cups enhance the customer experience, while good refrigeration maintains the freshness of your ingredients.

Equip your juice bar with these essentials to boost efficiency, product quality, and customer loyalty. With the right setup, your juice bar will thrive and stand out in a competitive market.

Here, we’ll give you a rundown of the best glass compactor machines on the market, perfect for any restaurant or bar looking to optimize their operations and reduce waste.

Why Use A Glass Compactor

Using a glass compactor machine offers several key benefits for restaurants and bars. First and foremost, these machines significantly reduce the volume of glass waste. By crushing bottles into smaller pieces, you can maximize your storage space and minimize the frequency of waste pickups. This not only saves space but also reduces disposal costs.

Safety is another major advantage. Handling broken glass can be hazardous, but a compactor minimizes the risk by containing the glass within the machine. This leads to a safer work environment for your staff, reducing the chances of injuries from handling and transporting broken glass.

Environmental impact is also a crucial consideration. Compacting glass waste makes recycling more efficient, contributing to your establishment’s sustainability efforts. By reducing the volume of glass, you lower your carbon footprint and promote eco-friendly waste management practices.

Lastly, the convenience factor cannot be overlooked. Glass compactors streamline your waste management process, making it easier and quicker to deal with empty bottles. This efficiency allows your staff to focus more on serving customers and less on dealing with cumbersome waste disposal tasks.

Egg Cracking By Hand Vs Machine, Which Is Faster?

We hear it all the time: Some restaurants have a guy who can crack eggs so fast that they don’t need an egg-cracking machine.

Is there really a guy that can crack eggs as fast as a machine? Honestly, it doesn’t sound possible.

In this article, we are going to compare the fastest hand egg cracker to an Ovo-Tech egg-cracking machine and see who wins.

Let’s get started.

cracking eggs by hand

What Is An Egg-Cracking Machine?

A centrifugal egg breaker is essentially a handy tool for any kitchen that deals with high volumes of eggs, whether for baking or cooking. This machine is designed to crack eggs efficiently and separate the yolks from the whites, saving both time and effort.

Operating on the principles of centrifugal force, this device gently breaks the eggs and uses a combination of rotational movements to separate the contents. It’s a real game changer for places like bakeries or restaurants that require large quantities of eggs processed quickly and cleanly.

Imagine not having to crack each egg individually—this machine takes care of it in batches, ensuring consistency with minimal waste.

If you need a lot of eggs cracked fast, then this machine can be a huge help. Is it faster than the fastest human? We are about to find out.

Ovo tech egg breaker machine

How Fast Is The Fastest Human Egg Cracker?

It’s actually pretty tough to find any info on the world’s fastest egg cracker.

I did find that the world’s fastest egg cracker with one hand is 18 eggs in a minute, but I can’t find much at all on the fastest while using 2 hands, which is what people in a restaurant would be doing,

That said, I did find this video below of a guy in Colorado cracking eggs at the Original Pancake House. They say his record is 180 eggs in under 2 minutes. Who knows if that is true or not, but he is pretty fast.

One thing you will notice in the video is that he does lose a good bit of egg, as you can see some of the egg whites going onto the floor as he disposes of the shell.

Ovo-Tech Egg Breaker

Now, let’s compare that to the UDTJ-10 Centrifugal Egg Breaker from Ovo-Tech.

I picked the UDTJ-10 model because it is the slowest model, figuring maybe someone would have a chance against this machine.

With this machine you need to empty the shells in the basket after every 210 eggs which makes it a slower than the larger models which automatically empties the shells into a waste container.

That said, the UDTJ-10 is still pretty darn fast, as it can process 10,000 eggs per hour. And the nice part is there isn’t any wasted egg as you see in the video above with the hand cracking. It is also the most popular model of centrifugal egg crackers that Ovo-Tech sells.

Check out the video below and watch the machine at work.

Hand-Cracking Eggs Vs Machine Egg Cracking: Which Is Faster?

Ok, we have laid out the contenders. Now, let’s see which is actually faster.

The hand-cracking egg guy says he can crack 180 eggs in 2 minutes. For fun, let’s say he can keep up that pace for an entire hour. That would put him, at 5,400 eggs per hour.

That puts him at just over half of the 10,000 eggs the UDTJ-10 Egg Cracking Machine can handle.

Not only is the machine much faster, but it also doesn’t waste eggs like the egg-cracker guy who was slopping eggs all over the floor.

The machine also crushes the shells for easier disposal as well.

The Verdict

When you compare the two, there isn’t much of a comparison. The machine is almost twice as fast, and you don’t lose as much egg as you do with the hand cracking. This is the slowest machine they sell too.

Their fastest machine egg cracking machine can handle a mindblowing 120,000 eggs per hour which would obliterate even a whole team of people cracking eggs by hand.

Of course there is the cost. The UDTJ-10 machine is priced at about $6,000. That said, if you pay an employee $15 an hour to crack eggs for 2 hours a day, that will cost you $10,950 in a year, so even an employee cracking eggs will cost more in the long run.

Study Reveals Health Advantages of 100% Orange Juice

fresh squeezed orange juice

Pure orange juice may offer surprising health benefits, according to a study from Toronto Metropolitan University. Researchers examined how drinking 100% orange juice affects appetite, food intake, and glycemic response compared to a sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB), known as “orange drink,” and water.

The study, supported by the Florida Department of Citrus, was published in the journal Nutrients and also explored emotional and sensory responses to the beverages.

In the experiment, thirty-six adults of normal weight were asked to drink either 100% orange juice, an orange drink, or water before their meals. Findings indicated that those who consumed 100% orange juice had lower food and energy intake compared to those who had the orange drink.

“A little bit of orange seems to go a long way,” remarked Nick Bellissimo, study co-author, in an interview with Fox News Digital. The research showed that the caloric compensation for 100% orange juice was 84%, significantly higher than the -25% observed for the orange drink. Caloric compensation refers to how individuals adjust their energy intake based on prior consumption.

Additionally, while no significant differences were found in average appetite among the beverages, blood glucose levels were notably lower after participants consumed 100% orange juice. The study noted, “Rest-of-day blood glucose concentrations were lower after 100% orange juice compared with the orange drink and water control.”

Bellissimo highlighted that, although many dietary guidelines advise reducing sugar intake from all sources, the findings suggest that 100% orange juice could be beneficial. “Orange juice is similar to a sugar-sweetened beverage in that it contains free sugars, but it also includes sucrose, vitamin C, and flavonoids,” he explained.

The presence of flavonoids in orange juice is hypothesized to slow down sugar digestion and absorption, thereby stabilizing blood glucose levels. “Thus, you are not seeing the same spike in blood glucose as you see with the SSB,” concluded Bellissimo.

fresh orange juicer

Interestingly, the study found that the energy consumed from orange juice was effectively balanced out at the next meal, with participants reducing their lunch intake by an amount similar to the calories they obtained from the orange juice. Conversely, those who consumed the sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumed more calories at lunch.

Nick Bellissimo confirmed that this modulation of energy intake and glycemic response continued throughout the day. “And participants consuming the orange juice actually consumed fewer calories, primarily by decreasing their carbohydrate intake,” he stated. “A little bit of orange seems to go a long way,” Bellissimo added.

Ilana Muhlstein, a registered dietitian and nutritionist not involved in the study, shared her insights with Fox News Digital, emphasizing the distinct impact of natural sugars versus added sugars. “The most important finding of the entire study is that the blood glucose concentrations were lower after 100% orange juice compared with an orange drink of the same calories, which shows that the body can recognize a difference between natural sugars and added sugars,” she explained.

Muhlstein consistently advocates for water consumption, especially before meals, and noted, “It’s important to note that drinking water has a meaningful impact on lowering blood sugar levels.”

For those opting to drink orange juice, Muhlstein recommends diluting it with water for better blood sugar results. “If someone wanted to drink orange juice, I would encourage them to stick with 100% orange juice, versus an ‘orange drink’ sweetened with sugar, and do their best to mix it with some water for a more positive blood sugar result.”

Dr. Rosa Walsh, scientific research director at the Florida Department of Citrus, also commented, “Although additional research is needed to further explore these results, we are encouraged by these findings.”

She highlighted the nutritional benefits of 100% orange juice, stating, “It helps to reinforce the importance of choosing 100% fruit juice with no added sugar over sugar-sweetened beverages and shows the positive impact that incorporating a glass of 100% orange juice into your daily diet may have on your overall health and wellness.

An 8-ounce glass of 100% orange juice contains no added sugar and provides 100% of the recommended daily value of vitamin C, and includes other essential vitamins and minerals.”

Pineapple Slicing Machines: Why Supermarkets Need Them

In-store pineapple-slicing machines are all over Europe but have yet to catch on in the United States.

In fact, many of you reading this might not even know what a pineapple slicing and coring machine even looks like.

Well, you are about to find out. In this article, I am going to show you why your supermarket or grocery store should have a pineapple-slicing machine for customers.

zummo isla pineapple machine

What is a Pineapple Machine For Supermarkets?

Pineapple machines are a handy way for customers to get fresh-cut pineapple in the store without having to pay an employee to do it.

With a pineapple machine, the customer puts a whole pineapple into the machine. The machine then cuts the top off the pineapple, cores it, and can cut it into rings, sticks, diced pineapple, or a whole-cored pineapple depending on the machine.

The great part is it does this all in about 15-30 seconds.

Why Grocery Stores and Supermarkets Need Pineapple Machines

Considering a pineapple machine for your store? Here are the reasons you should get one.

Increased Pineapple Sales

Of course, the number one reason to get a pineapple machine is to increase the number of pineapples sold, which will, in turn, put more money in your pocket.

There will likely be a learning curve for customers on using the machine but once they get used to it and start using it as well as seeing others use it they will soon be lining up to have their pineapples sliced and cored by a high-quality pineapple slicing machine.

Pineapple slicing machine zummo

Convenient For Customers

The allure of fresh-cut pineapple is undeniable, yet the daunting task of preparing it often deters customers.

The pineapple-slicing machine offers undeniable convenience in this scenario. It caters perfectly to those who relish the taste of fresh pineapple but recoil at the thought of peeling, coring, and slicing.

By transforming a cumbersome chore into a simple, quick, and almost effortless process, the machine eliminates the barrier between customers and their enjoyment of fresh pineapple. This convenience not only encourages more customers to indulge in the fruit but also enhances their shopping experience, making it more likely they’ll return for more.

It Attracts Attention

When customers are in the store, and they see someone using the machine they will naturally be curious. So they will want to buy a pineapple just to see it go.

Then, more people see it, and more people want to use it.

Not only that, but people around town will also talk. “Have you seen that pineapple coring and slicing machine at the supermarket?” And people will come to the store just to use the machine. Therefore, you sell more pineapples.

Cut Employee Costs

Everyone wants to cut employee costs. This machine will do just that.

Instead of paying someone to cut pineapple, a pineapple machine can do that work for you, which frees up an employee to do other work that is more profitable.

The customers are the ones that actually operate the machine; all you need an employee for is to clean it and remove the trimmed pineapple pieces when the waste bin gets full.

Also, you don’t have to worry about an employee cutting themselves while cutting up pineapple. No unwanted workman’s comp claims.

Any Negatives with A Pineapple Slicing Machine?

One negative aspect of the machine is that it needs to be cleaned every day. That said, cleaning one of these machines isn’t too bad; it takes less than half the time it would take to clean a commercial citrus machine.

I cleaned one myself after using it, and it took about 10-15 minutes. Better to pay an employee to clean it for 15 minutes than to pay him all day to cut pineapple, though.

Another negative is that it is a large initial investment.

Wrap Up

Pineapple-slicing machines are not just a trend; they are a strategic investment for supermarkets. Offering unparalleled convenience, they appeal to customers who love fresh pineapple but dislike the hassle of preparing it.

These machines not only boost pineapple sales by making the fruit more accessible but also enhance the shopping experience, drawing in customers with their novelty and efficiency. While they require an initial investment and daily maintenance, the return—in terms of increased sales, reduced labor costs, and customer satisfaction—far outweighs these considerations.

Essentially, the real question for supermarkets isn’t whether to get a pineapple machine but why they haven’t already.

Types Of Commercial Juicers: Pros and Cons

If you are starting a juice bar or are a restaurant looking to get a juicer but you aren’t sure what kind to get, then you have come to the right place.

We have been selling commercial juicers for over 20 years, so we know all the different types and which juicers work best for each situation.

Let’s get started.

Citrus Juicers

Zummo Z14 Countertop

Topping off the list, we have citrus juicers. As you can probably guess from the name, these machines are made to juice citrus fruits.

Most of them can juice oranges, lemons, limes grapefruits and pomegranates. There are a few models that only do oranges though.

These machines are usually found in restaurants, hotels, catering and other locations. There are also some companies that use them for bottling juice as well.

These juicers come in all shapes and sizes. There are smaller ones that fit on a countertop and larger ones that can go on a countertop of on a cabinet with wheels and other accessories that make them more portable and saves counterspace.

There are also juicers made for lower juice demand situations that can juice about 6 fruits per minute all the way up to 40 per minute, depending on your needs.

Some machines are specifically designed to juice certain kinds of fruit, too. For example, the Zumex Speed S Pomegranate is calibrated to juice pomegranates which have tougher skins and fruit on the inside. This machine will also get more juice out of each pomegranate than a regular citrus juice machine.

There is also the Zummo LM that is calibrated to juice lemons and limes.

If you are looking to juice citrus fruits, then one of these juicers is the way to go.

Pros

  • Ideal for citrus fruit
  • Great for restaurants and catering
  • Most machines can juice all forms of citrus fruits

Cons

  • Can only juice citrus fruits

Centrifugal Juicers

Zummo Z22 centrifugal juicers

If you want to juice apples, pears, carrots, cucumbers, and just about everything else under the sun, then a centrifugal juicer could be a good option for you.

A centrifugal works by shredding fruits and vegetables using a rapidly spinning metal blade against a mesh filter, separating juice from pulp through centrifugal force which forces the juice outward into a container.

The remaining pulp is pushed to the sides and collected in a separate bin for disposal.

Centrifugal juicers are smaller, fit easily on the countertop, and are easy to operate. If you have a restaurant or juice bar, these can definitely come in handy, but they aren’t made for massive amounts of juicing; they simply aren’t fast enough.

The good news is they are the least expensive way to go for a commercial juicer so they are great for people just starting out and people with low juice demand.

Pros

  • Less expensive
  • Can juice a variety of fruits and vegetables
  • Smaller footprint
  • Easy to operate

Cons

  • Citrus  fruits must be peeled to be juiced
  • Can’t do a large volume of juice
  • Juice from a centrifugal juicer doesn’t store well

Cold Press Machines

Zumex Mastery

Cold press machines are sometimes referred to as masticating juicers. They are similar but not exactly the same.

A cold press is a simple and effective way to juice all forms of fruits and vegetables.

The cold press works by putting shredded fruits and vegetables into a bag and then smooshing the bag with a hydraulic press a few times to get all of the juice out.

This method delivers a high yield and gives you a wide variety of options for juice. Cold presses come in many different sizes, from countertop presses that can juice 5-10 gallons an hour to industrial presses that can juice 2000 gallons per hour.

These are great machines, but the big negative of these is that they can get pretty expensive.

Pros

  • Can juice all forms of fruits and vegetables
  • Has a high-yield
  • It can come in countertop sizes up to industrial.

Cons

  • Higher price tag

Manual Juicers

manual juicer

I get it; you’re just starting out and don’t have the money for a commercial juicer. If that is the case, a manual juicer will do the trick until you get your feet under you.

Most of the manual juicers out there are citrus juicers, so you will be limited in that kind of juice you will be able to produce.

The manual juicers are generally slower and are obviously operated manually, so if you get busy, it could be a lot of work.

That said, these juicers are dirt cheap. You can get an El Cheapo model for about $10 or up to about $500.

While manual juicers have drawbacks, they can work for those who do a limited amount of juicing or are new to juicing.

Pros

  • Less expensive
  • Can juice all forms of citrus fruit

Cons

  • Only for low-volume
  • Not good for fruits other than citrus

Wrap Up

There you have the 4 types of juicers for a commercial setting.

Which is best for you? That really depends on your needs, what types of fruits and vegetables you are looking to juice, and, of course, your budget.

If you have a higher demand but don’t want something better than a manual juicer, then a high-quality refurbished juicer is a consideration. They are usually about half the price of new juicers, so that can save you some good money and everyone like that.

Zummo vs Zumex Juicers: What’s The Difference?

If you’ve been around the juicing industry for a while or are just getting into it, you may have noticed there are only two or three choices when it comes to commercial citrus juicers.

Zumex and Zummo are two of the biggest brands in the citrus juicing world. They both make great machines, but they aren’t the same.

We sell both Zummo and Zumex juice machines, so we know both brands very well. In this article, I will show you the differences between these two brands so you can make an informed decision.

Let’s get started.

zumex vs zummo

 Zummo vs Zumex Juicer Comparison

When looking at these two juicer brands, here are the main differences to consider:

Juice Quality

glasses of juice

Many people think all juice is the same. You squeeze the oranges, and the juice comes out. How could the machine make a difference?

Trust me, it does.

The Zummo machines use a single fruit chamber that reduces the contact of the juice with the peel when it is being squeezed. This is important because the peels have a very bitter taste which can make the juice more bitter.

I am sure at some point you have had a glass of OJ that was bitter, that’s because there was a lot of contact with the juice and the peel.

Another reason you want less contact between the juice and the peel is that the peels usually have pesticides on them and you don’t want the pesticides getting into the juice for obvious reasons.

Yield

Yield refers to the amount of juice you get from each fruit. Obviously, the more juice you can get out of an orange, the better.

Zummo uses the EVS Advanced System, which is characterized by grooved balls and its ribbed blade. This system is made to mimic hand juicing done by a machine.

They say this system has a greater yeild, by 10%. Of course, all manufacturers like to say their machines are the best. Below is a video we did years back comparing the Zummo Z40 and the Zumex Speed, the fastest machines for both companies. Have a watch and see for yourself, while the video is older, the technology and machines they make today are very similar.

Speed

We just touched on it a bit above when we talked about the yield, but there are different models of each than the 2 used in the demonstration above.

Obviously the speed will vary by model, while to top Zummo machine is faster than the top Zumex machine, the other Zumex machine models tend to juice more fruits per minute than comparable Zummo machines

If we are just basing it on fruits squeezed per minute, the Zumex machine models are faster except for the top machines.

zummo z40 nature

Price

Of course, everyone wants to know which machine costs less. Who doesn’t want to keep more money in their pocket?

Truth be told, the prices of these machines are pretty similar. Zumex might be a little more expensive, but not by much. And it will depend on the model. Plus, there are a ton of options you can get with these machines that will make the price fluctuate quite a bit.

Overall, Zumex and Zummo are both in the same ballpark price-wise, and you are not going to see a big difference between the two. However, Zumex tends to be a little more.

Versatility

Pomegranate juicer from zumex

While juicing oranges is what often comes to mind there are more citrus fruits out there that these machines will juice.

In fact, most of the machines from both manufacturers will juice a variety of citrus fruits but they both have machines that are dedicated to certain fruits.

For example, Zummo makes the Z40 LM, which is specifically calibrated to juice limes and lemons, although it is capable of juicing all forms of citrus fruits.

Zumex has the Zumex Speed For Pomegranates. As you can guess from the name, this machine is calibrated to juice pomegranates specifically, but it can also juice other citrus fruits.

You may think juicing all fruits is the same except for size but there is also the toughness of the peels to consider as well as the toughness of the fruit inside of the peel.

For example, pomegranate peels are much tougher than orange peels, and so is the fruit on the inside. Therefore, while you can juice a pomegranate with a juicer that is calibrated for oranges, it won’t get you the same yield as a machine that is specifically calibrated for pomegranates. The same goes for lemons and limes, which also have tougher peels than oranges.

If you are going to be juicing mostly limes, lemons, or pomegranates, you might want to consider getting a machine that is designed to juice those fruits.

Wrap Up

There you have the comparison of Zummo and Zumex citrus juicers. They clearly are not the same, each has it’s strengths and weaknesses.

Both are quality machines and you really can’t go wrong with either brand but the differences in taste of the juice, speed and versatility are particularly notable.

So, what can this marvel do? Buckle up, because the Nutrifaster N450 isn’t here to play small. Designed for high-volume juice bars, restaurants, and health institutions, this machine turns a mountain of produce into a river of juice with astonishing speed.

But it’s not just about quantity; it’s about quality too. The Nutrifaster N450 extracts every drop of juice, leaving behind a dry pulp that’s proof of its efficiency.

And because it operates at a speed that minimizes heat and oxidation, the juice retains more nutrients and enzymes, meaning your body gets all the good stuff.

What’s more, this juicer is built like a tank with stainless steel construction, ensuring it can withstand the rigors of heavy-duty use.

Cleanup is a breeze too, because let’s face it, no one wants to spend more time cleaning than juicing. Simply disassemble the parts and give them a quick wash.

So, whether you’re whipping up a storm for health-conscious customers or making sure your family gets their five-a-day in the most delicious way possible, the Nutrifaster N450 commercial juicer is your go-to. Best Egg Cracking Machines On the Market For 2024

If you process a lot of eggs you know what a pain it can be and how much time it can take.

Lucky for you there are machines out there that make it A LOT easier, saving you time and labor costs.

The egg-cracking machine market is relatively new, so there really aren’t that many to pick from, but there are a couple that stand above the rest.

Let’s get this party started

What Is An Egg Cracking Machine?

I know the name “Egg Cracking Machine” can be vague as to what it actually does.

To put it simply, a centrifugal egg cracking machine cracks eggs by spinning them at high speed.

The eggs are placed inside the machine, which then rapidly rotates. This rotation forces the eggs outward against the machine’s outer edge or cracking mechanism due to centrifugal force. As the eggs are forced against this edge, they crack, and the contents are separated, with the shell pieces being retained while the liquid egg is collected below.

This process allows for quick and efficient cracking of large quantities of eggs without manual effort.

Best Egg Cracking Machines

If you want to crack a lot of eggs in a short amount of time then these are the best machines on the market.

#1 Ovo-Tech Egg Cracking Machines

If you are looking for the best and the fastest machines on the market, then the egg-cracking machines from Ovo-Tech are the top choice.

Ovo-Tech makes 3 different egg-cracking machines. These machines can crack from 10,000 eggs per hour all the way up to 120,000 eggs per hour with their largest machine.

These machines are made from durable 304 stainless steel and incorporate self-balancing technology. Self-balancing is important because you don’t want a machine full of eggs to tip over. What a mess that would make…yikes!

Not only do these machines crack eggs and blazing speeds and save labor costs, they also get more eggs out of the shell than you would get cracking the eggs by hand or with other machines.

The Ovo-Tech Egg Breakers retrieve 98% of egg liquid from the crushed shells. For comparison, cracking eggs by hand will leave about 20-25% of the egg liquid in the shell. This means even more savings and more yolk and egg white.

These machines are appearing increasingly in breakfast restaurants, bakeries, and pasta-making companies that use a lot of eggs. Don’t be a fool and pay employees to crack eggs all day when these machines can do the work much faster, so you have time for other things.

Overall, this is easily the best machine on the market, and it’s really not even close.

Pros

  • 3 different size machines to fit your needs
  • Can crack up to 120,000 eggs per hour
  • Retrieves 98% of the egg yolk and white
  • Uses self balancing technology

Cons

  • Above average in price

#2 ADSI Centri-Matic III Egg King

Next up we have the ADSI Centri-Matic III, or the Egg King as we call it

This machine can process about 20,000 eggs per hour. It only comes in 1 size, though, so if you need something that can do more than that, you will need to look at another brand.

The Egg King isn’t without its faults, though. It is more expensive than our top choice.

This egg centrifuge machine is also made of plastic vs stainless steel. The plastic is porous, so it can get moldy, and the plastic bucket can also crack.

There is also a rubber seal inside the bucket that can easily get moldy and must be kept clean. Due to the vibration, the base can also easily come unplugged within the housing.

This machine is good for starters, especially if you can get a used one that is in decent shape. We have a few of them on our eBay page if you are interested in one for a good price.

Pros

  • Less Expensive
  • Lightweight
  • Portable

Cons

  • Plastic can get moly or crack
  • Unplugs itself

#3 Supurb Egg Centrifuge by Alibaba

egg centrifuge machine

This machine is junk, but having a list that is only 2 items long seemed kinda weird.

The Supurb Egg Centrifuge is simply a Chinese knock off, as is everything else from Alibaba.

It won’t work out like you hope, it will break and you won’t be able to get it fixed or get parts for and you won’t be able to get your money back either.

I can’t emphasize enough how much you should avoid this machine, but I am sure someone somewhere will fall for it.

Like I said, there aren’t many machines to choose from, even making the list 3 machines long was one too many. Don’t buy this one. You’ve been warned.

Pros

  • Less expensive

Cons

  • Chinese knock-off
  • Unreliable
  • Can’t get parts
  • Everything else

Wrap Up

There you have the best egg centrifuge machines or egg cracking machines, both names are the exact same machine.

In reality, there are only 2 machines on the market nowadays that are worth looking at; you can ignore the third machine on the list.

If you want a top end machine that is reliable and can do low or high volume I would go with an Ovo-Tech machine. If you want to save some money, you can go with the ADSI machine; I would look for a used one, though, since the new ones are almost as expensive as the Ovo-Tech machine.

#2 Nutrifaster N450

Nutrifaster N450 Commercial Fruit & Vegetable Juicer

Next, we have the Nutrifaster N450. This juicer has a stainless steel tank that tackles your juicing needs all day long without blinking.

It also comes with a more powerful motor than the Z22. Like I said, it’s a tank.

It’s designed to be easy to use, so you won’t need to spend ages figuring it out, and cleaning it isn’t a huge chore either.

Think of it as the reliable workhorse in your kitchen that’s ready to churn out glass after glass of delicious, healthy juice, making it a hit with both the staff behind the counter and the customers waiting for a fresh drink.

Another nice feature is that the blade on this juicer can be sharpened when it gets dull, so you don’t have to keep buying new blades.

The N450 does have a smaller feeding tube to put the food in than the top model, which some people find annoying; it also has a higher price tag.

Pros

  • Built like a tank
  • Great for heavy use
  • Powerful motor
  • Blade can be resharpened

Cons

  • Smaller feeding tube
  • More expensive

#3 Zumex MultifruitZumex Multifruit

Next up we have another really nice juicer with the Zumex Multifruit.

Don’t let the name fool you; while it might be named “Multifruit,” it also juices vegetables as well. Talk to the marketing department at Zumex about the confusing name.

Anyhow, this bad boy comes with a titanium blade, so it will last you a VERY long time.

This juicer is also the quietest machine on the list, so if you want a machine on the quieter side, then this would be a good. I should note that many of these juicers will say they are silent, but they really aren’t. So if you buy one expecting it to not make any noise don’t be surprised.

Overall another really nice juicer you should definitely consider.

Pros

  • Titanium blade stays sharp longer
  • Runs quiet
  • Less expensive
  • Available in multiple colors

Cons

  • Not stainless steel

Why Get a Vegetable Juicer?

Opting for a vegetable juicer offers clear advantages, especially when compared to cold press machines.

These juicers excel in speed and convenience, processing large amounts of vegetables quickly, perfect for bustling environments. Their ability to handle whole or large pieces of produce significantly cuts down preparation time, allowing for swift service during busy periods.

Vegetable juicers shine in versatility and durability. Unlike the slower cold press machines, they can quickly turn a wide range of vegetables into nutritious juice, without demanding extensive prep work. Built to last and designed for ease of maintenance, these juicers stand up to frequent use and are simple to clean, maintaining hygiene with minimal effort.

In summary, choosing a vegetable juicer means investing in efficiency, versatility, and durability, ensuring your operations can swiftly meet demand with high-quality juice, making them an ideal choice for any fast-paced business aiming to satisfy health-conscious customers.

Wrap Up

There you have the 3 best vegetable juicers on the market. I know the list is only 3 juicers long, but those are really the only 3 worth considering if you are in a commercial setting.

Other vegetable juicers don’t make the cut.

If you don’t buy any of these juicers, just make sure you don’t fall for one of those Chinese knock-offs. The internet is filled with them, and the price can make them seem attractive. Don’t be fooled; they won’t last long, and you won’t be able to get them repaired when they break.

Stick with the three choices above and and I promise you will be happy with a reliable machine. Go with something else and you might regret it.

Best Commercial Citrus Juicers On The Market For 2024

If you are going to be juicing a lot of citrus fruits, it is best to go with a dedicated citrus juicer.

A cold press machine won’t really work in a commercial setting like a restaurant, and a centrifugal juicer is not ideal for citrus.

That leaves you needing a commercial citrus juicer. But which one to choose, it can get a bit confusing especially if you are new to the juicing game.

No worries, we have you covered to help you make an informed decision, so you choose the machine that is best for you.

The Z40 is also loaded with options and upgrades to make it even better. The most notable option is the cabinet that makes it more mobile and saves counter space. Zumex Soul Series 2

Best Compact Citrus Juicer

Soul Series 2

If you are looking for a compact juicer that won’t take up a lot of space, looks good, and is a nice juicer, then the Soul Series 2 from Zumex is an excellent choice.

Small and efficient the Soul Series 2 is perfect for setting where space is limited. Small but mighty, this countertop juicer can process an impressive 18 fruits per minute and even more than that when using the extra small kit for limes and lemons.

The Soul Series 2 also has an optional cart that you can add to make it mobile and provide extra storage for cups, napkins, fruit, and other accessories.

This is also a smart juicer, which means you can control it from your phone and get notifications when it needs the filter cleaned, runs out of fruit, needs maintenance, and more.

This machine can juice oranges, limes, tangerines, and lemons.  It also features a PulpOut system which sweeps the filter to remove excess pulp and seeds.

The feeder can hold 3-6 oranges, and there is an optional basket you can get that will hold an additional 17 lbs of fruit. It is pricy though, and the fruit doesn’t automatically feed into the machine from the basket.

Overall, this is a great machine if you are short on space and want something that can still perform.

  • Can juice oranges, tangerines, lemons and limes
  • Can be run on your phone and you can receive notifications for maintenance

Zumex Speed For Pomegranates

Best Citrus Machine For Pomegranates

Pomegranate juicer from zumex

If you are looking to juice a lot of pomegranates, then the Zumex Speed For Pomegranates is the go-to option.

While a couple of the juicers i have already mentioned are capable of juicing pomegranates this machine is made exclusively to juice only pomegranates.

What’s the difference?

The difference is this machine is explicitly calibrated for pomegranates. Pomegranates have thicker and harder peels than oranges and grapefruits. The Zumex Speed Pomegranate has a special titanium blade that cuts through those tough peels like butter and will stay sharper for longer.

While other machines can juice pomegranates, they don’t do it as well and will yield less juice per pomegranate than this machine does.

This bad boy can juice 30 pomegranates per minute and has a triple filter that delivers juice that is ready to drink.

The Zumex Speed Pomegranate can be used on the countertop, or you can get it with the podium as shown in the photo above. The podium makes it more portable and gives you a bit more storage, but it certainly isn’t cheap.

Overall, if you are juicing a lot of pomegranates, then this machine is a no-brainer.

Pros

  • Calibrated specifically for juicing pomegranates
  • Can juice 30 pomegranates per minute
  • Up to 220 lbs of non-stop production with the large hopper
  • Uses triple filtration for extra clean juice

Cons

  • Won’t do as well juicing other citrus fruits
  • Priced for high demand juice production

The Zummo Z01 Nature juices about 6 fruits per minute. The feeder holds 2.2 pounds of fruit, and the bin capacity is 2.38 gallons.

This citrus juicer only juices oranges so it is limited in that fashion. That being said this juicer is a bit more friendly on the budget than other juicers on this list so it will save you some money.

Pros

  • Less expensive
  • Smaller footprint
  • Available in 4 colors

Cons

  • Only juices oranges
  • Small bin capacity

Citrus Juicer To Avoid

Vevor Commercial Juicer

If you search for a commercial citrus juicer on the internet it won’t be long before you come across the Vevor Commercial Juicer.

Priced well below what any commercial citrus juicer should cost, the Vevor may look enticing. Don’t be fooled. There is nothing about this machine that is commercial. It is made entirely of plastic, and it certainly won’t last under any kind of demand.

One big red flag with this juice is that they don’t even show you pictures of it. It’s just a computer-generated drawing of the juicer. that tells me they aren’t even confident enough with how this machine looks to put a real picture of it out there.

Another red flag is the price. Even the cheapest of juicers that are actually commercial grade are still way more expensive than the Vevor. I can’t believe Home Depot would carry, but for some reason, they do.

Don’t be fooled by the Vevor labeling itself a commercial juicer. It’s anything but.

Things To Consider When Getting A Commercial Juicer

When diving into the world of commercial citrus juicers, there are several key factors to consider to ensure you select the right machine for your business needs. Let’s break down these considerations in a straightforward and accessible manner, offering you a clear guide to making an informed decision.

First off, think about the volume of juice you’ll need to produce. The demand of your establishment, whether a bustling juice bar or a cozy café, will dictate the capacity and speed of the juicer you should opt for. A machine that can handle a high volume of fruit per minute, with a sizable hopper for holding fruit, will save you time and keep your operations running smoothly during peak hours.

The variety of citrus fruits you plan to juice is another vital aspect. While most commercial juicers handle oranges, lemons, and limes with ease, if you’re looking to juice a wider array like grapefruits or pomegranates, ensure the juicer you choose is capable and efficient at processing these fruits. This versatility allows you to expand your juice menu and cater to a broader range of customer preferences.

Ease of use and maintenance cannot be overstated. A juicer that’s straightforward to operate and clean will enhance workflow and hygiene. Look for features like automatic pulp ejection, easy-to-clean components, and durable construction that can withstand the rigors of daily use. A user-friendly machine ensures that all staff members can operate it efficiently, minimizing downtime and maintenance hassles.

The juicer’s footprint and portability are also important, especially in settings where space is at a premium. A compact design that doesn’t sacrifice power for size, possibly with added mobility like a wheeled base, can be a game-changer for smaller establishments or those looking to optimize their counter space.

Lastly, consider the warranty and customer support offered by the manufacturer. A robust warranty and accessible, responsive customer service can provide peace of mind, knowing that any issues will be promptly addressed, ensuring minimal disruption to your business.

Final Word

There you have the top commercial citrus machines on the market today. Whether you are looking a high-demand juicer, something that juices pomegranates or something with a small footprint that doesn’t take up a lot of space on the countertop we have you covered.

In the end, you need to choose whatever citrus juicer will fit your needs and your budget the best. If you are looking for a good citrus juicer for less you can also opt for a refurbished citrus juicer, these go for about half the price of new juicers so this can be a good option for those on a budget.

If you still need help choosing a juicer, reach out to us and we will help you pick the perfect juicer for you.
